After 2 years away, we’re delighted to be back on tour in SE4 creating a bespoke one off performance for the Brockley Max Festival on Thursday 9th June at 8pm.

THE DAY THE PATRIARCHY DIED

A scratch site-responsive evening of short scenes, monologues, poetry –  possibly music – inspired by the little-known Coroner’s Court that we were lucky to be given a sneaky peek into by Lewisham Council.

The Patriarchy has been found dead in mysterious circumstances.  The Coroner’s Court has been reconvened to determine what happened. Who was there, who wasn’t, where were you and most importantly – WHAT. HAPPENED. NEXT?

You’re invited to contribute to this interactive informal event by creating your own short piece (no more than 3 mins and 3 performers, no tech)  and sending it to us at hallo@justjonestheatre.org.uk by 2nd June 5pm.

The audience will be invited to review the evidence and decide with the Coroner how the Patriarchy died and what or who was responsible.

A free performance with donations welcome.

Workshop for The Day the Patriarchy Died – got an idea but not sure how to get it done, want to play but not sure where to start. Artistic Director, Rebecca Manson Jones will be leading a free workshop on Thursday 25th May at 7.15pm (location tbc) exploring ideas and ways of getting them into a format for performance.

Perform in The Day the Patriarchy Died – if you are a locally-based performer and are available for a couple of hours on the evenings of 25th May & Wednesday 7th  June and all of Friday 9th June to support the local community arts festival, please email to hallo@justjonestheatre.org.uk  your professional CV or link by 15th May. Just Jones & works with integrated and inclusive teams. We are looking for  up to 3 performers with a range of skills and aged 19 – 96 with a sense of fun, adventure and a big playing range. Brockley Max is a festival largely surviving on volunteer time. JustJones& has received some funds through Brockley Max’s Crowd Fund appeal so there will be payment for the performance day.

Just Jones &  is a Brockley-based theatre company touring nationally. Our first production was the first ever UK winner of an international award, the Ibsen scholarship for our innovative approach to interactive staging. We involve audiences in every stage of our work and this is the first version of this show that we will have made. Anything can happen. We love Brockley Max and in 2013 we teamed up with Ros Thomas Productions to make Brockley More an evening of tiny plays about Brockley’s future in the Jam Circus. Our next full production scheduled of 2018 is called We Will Be Happy Here.
